The Monks Walking for PEACE - Atlanta GA

A group of 19 Buddhist monks completed a 2,300-mile “Walk for Peace,” arriving in Washington, D.C. after 108 days of walking from Fort Worth, Texas, to promote peace, compassion, and mindfulness across the country. Their pilgrimage drew thousands of people along the route and on social media, not because of political agendas or religion, but because their quiet, committed presence offered something rare not seen very often in today's society , a living example of unity, resilience, and shared humanity. Even with the exception of hardship and a traffic accident that ultimately led to one of the monks needing a leg amputation, the monks’ willingness to endure walking state to state, and embody a message of peace reminded many that transformation often begins with simple acts of intention and kindness. In a world marked by division and distraction, their journey became a reminder that empathy and collective care can inspire hope, strengthen community bonds, and encourage people to choose compassion in their own lives. The pinnacle example of not living the “I”, “Me” and “My” but living in the “We”, “Our” and “Us”.
